What's Going On...

A few things I'm doing...

Starting on some single panel curtains for my Etsy shop.  Good for covering doors or as portals to other worlds...

Sewing tote bags with antique quilt pieces made by my Grandmother.  I had the idea of giving them to family members but I think everyone (except me) is too minimalist and wouldn't want to to be stuck with anymore 'stuff '...

Making pom-pom wreaths just because they're so fun.

I made this one for my Granddaughter with a sweet little deer from my dear bloggy friend Rebecca and just couldn't stop...

Thrifting - as always.  I found this old rocking chair in an antique shop.  More nostalgic than practical - I had one like it that I drug around to every apartment when I was younger...

I had to have this beautiful rose crocheted throw - even though it will soon be sweltering here in Houston...

Speaking of sweltering, I planted a lot of vegetables in containers.  Not sure how that will work out though - most days in summer I'll have to water them twice a day.  Already I'm not sure with what's up with the leaf edges of this one...

What I'm NOT doing - watching or listening to anything presidential related that begins with a T - head in the sand please.

Loved seeing that pompom wreath!

And we had a very similarly-styled rocking chair! Brought it back from a trip to the Dominican Republic. It made several moves with us...fell off a moving truck once (hubby repaired it), and for the life of us we can't remember where it ended up!

I've been very occupied at my mother's bedside. (Late-stage dementia & battling a very bad UTI. I haven't minded one minute of it except the challenge of advocating for her. Being WITH her in her distress has been an almost sacred experience.) At any rate, I have really nothing concrete to show for the past 144 hours.

Your curtains and tote bags are so lovely! And I love the blanket you thrifted too. Unfortunately blankets are still very much in use around here. We got 5 inches of snow the other day. Some spring! Sigh.

Oh! I love that bag! So nice, and those pom poms too. I also plant in pots, it works well, if, as you say you water. If we have a very hot day I move to some shade for a few hours. Morning sun works best of all. Except for tomatoes who love any sun at all. I love your description of those curtains too. x

Love your beautiful rose crocheted throw. You have such a cool blog with many interesting pictures. Your posts are short and lovely, which I appreciate. Me and my daughters also have a blog, and we would love it if your could visit us and follow. It's nice to meet new friends. I'm browsing through your other posts tonight as well.
