It's so hot here in Houston in the summertime that it's hard to have much of an appetite.  We tend to have much lighter and easier meals than in the "winter".  We tend to not have much of a winter here but that's another story.  Here are some of our go-to vegetarian meal ideas for hot weather.

Hummus and pita bread

These are the latest gypsy curtains I made for my Etsy shop.  They're called "Song of India" and made from vintage saris and curtain panels in vibrant hot pink and orange.

I love this color combination.  LOOK!

Have a colorful day!

Today I'm thinking about some vintage pieces in my Etsy shop and how to wear them.

Love the colors in this 80's beaded jacket.

Now I would totally dress it down.  This one is from Sisters of the Black Moon and sold on e-bay for $405!

This gypsy skirt by Carole Little is amazing.  It's fully lined with a gorgeous sequined design.

It should be worn with tons of accessories.  The wine cork belt is awesome!

1970's high waisted wide leg Wrangler jeans.

This is how we do it.

Cotton calico maxi dress.

Good for wearing in a field with people.  A lot of people.

Pale and flowy vintage nightgown.

Should be worn reclining...

We went to see "Rock of Ages" last night.  Loved it!  Keep in mind that I'm a complete wimp when it comes to movies.  I won't do violence, scary, sad, ...really anything negative.  I think there's only so much room in our minds and I don't want anything awful in mine -  if I can help it.  My taste runs more to Disney than Tarentino.

I don't know what the critics will say but I thought Rock of Ages was hilarious, tacky, 80's fun with great songs.  My Etsy favorites today are everything you need to be a band babe.  Rock on!

Have you seen this fantastic lamp on Pinterest?

Well, it turns out there's MORE and they're at peacockgypsy's Etsy shop. Look at these amazing creations !

I have just the place in my living room for that last one - sigh...

If you like things along the baroque-victorian-gothic lines like I do you must check out Gothic Rose Antiques.  There's an actual shop in Placerville, California, an on-line shop at their own web-site, and also an Etsy shop.

I'ver never been to Placerville but I think it would be worth the trip.

Admittedly, I'm not brave enough for taxidermy or human hair, but there are some gorgeous items I could live with.

Love these witchy jars!

Wonderful old oil portrait.

A mysterious mask.

An 18th century sedan chair used as a fortune telling booth.

Antique hat.
