You know how no matter how successful an actor is what they've always wanted to do is direct? I've just begun a creative endeavor that I'm really excited about. After over two years of selling vintage items on my wildly, oh, I mean mildly, successful Etsy shop - Babylon Sisters, I'm making things. Sewing things to be exact. The first stage is a line of gypsy-inspired curtains.
Curtains are such a crucial element in the hippie/gyspy decorating style and really, you can't just buy them at Target and expect to get away with it.
As anyone who knows me, which is pretty much nobody, can attest, I haven't really changed my decorating style since about 1977. Some years I'm in, some years I'm out...
So I made these curtains called "Silk Road".
and these - called Gold Dust Woman.
And I'm working on these. They're going to be called "Midnight at the Oasis". My daughter and I are in the process of hand-beading them...
So, check out our shop if you're interested in this type of thing. I'm also hard at work on a line of clothing and home accessories all handmade and one of a kind from vintage and ethnic materials.
