Babylon Sisters' Prescription for Anti-Depressive Living*

Yesterday and today have been quite cold and bleak by Houston standards.  Cold and grey.  Depressing.

Much has been written about how to survive a long harsh winter.

Babylon Sisters grew up here, so while we are careful not to complain too much, we do need some coping strategies...

The first thing we need is LIGHT.  Turn on all your lovely lamps and chandeliers, etc..  Absolutely no overhead lighting or harsh bulbs of any kind!

Now, light your candles.  Do not save them for another, more special, time.  The time is now.

The next thing to do is put on your favorite music and SING REAL LOUD.

It would be nice to actually be able to sing or even know all of the words but we'll work with what we've got.

Luckily, being Scottish-Americans, we're always very tasteful.

Make yourself an adult beverage.

Preferably something fancy -

but, again, it's a matter of personal taste.

A fire in the fireplace is nice.

Cook some comfort food.  It should probably involve cheese.

No television news tonight.  We love Anderson Cucumber but tonight is for only positive and uplifting entertainment.

Watch some comedy.  I highly recommend Eddie Izzard.

Old movies are good.  Try Auntie Mame.

Finally, crawl into bed (with it's perfectly fresh sheets and poofy quilts) with some inspiring reading.

See, we made it and we're feeling better.  Still cold but better.
